Welcome to Emerald Sea Adventures, a locally owned and operated whale watching tour operator and gift store located in the charming seaside town of Sidney, BC ... the gateway to the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.

Your experience starts at our office/gift shop located on Sidney's waterfront at the Sidney Pier Hotel and Spa. You'll find our picturesque waterfront boardwalk, the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre, Mineral World/Scratch Patch, our local fish market and world famous Glass beach all within steps from our entrance. Inside our shop you'll find all your trip essentials for your whale watching excursion including sunscreen, water containers and spare batteries. If your looking for a souvenir to take home, we have a variety of local arts, pottery, wood work and marine life photos for your purchase.

Departing from Sidney allows our guests to experience the magical Gulf Islands and a very close proximity to the three large pods of Resident Killer whales traveling and feeding grounds. These three pod's (J, K & L) comprising 86 Orca reside in our area for 7-9 months feeding primarily on the abundant salmon population. Transient killer whales, grey, minke and humpback whales are also commonly spotted in the Sidney waters. Our islands are host to seals, sea lions, two species of porpoise and a huge variety of local marine bird populations which are commonly seen on most trips.

Your boat is Canadian Coast Guard certified and equipped with a private onboard washroom, hydrophone to hear the whales and the world's quietest, environmentally friendly outboards. We limit to a maximum capacity of 12 passengers for a more personable experience. Our local guides are Transport Canada certified and have over 12 years experience operating whale watching tours in our local waters.
